Apple iOS 17 Public Beta Now Available: Discover New Features and How to Download

Apple has officially released the initial beta version of iOS 17, the latest iteration of its iPhone operating system. Unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2023, iOS 17 is now available as a public beta, allowing users to explore and experience its features through a complimentary trial period.
Compatibility: iOS 17 is designed to work with iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and all subsequent iPhone models. However, it no longer supports iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
How to Download iOS 17 Public Beta:
- Before installing iOS 17, ensure you back up your iPhone.
- Visit the Apple Beta Software Program website and sign in with your Apple ID, agreeing to the terms and conditions.
- Once you’ve accepted the terms and conditions, enroll your devices.
- After successful enrollment, the iOS 17 public beta will be available in your device’s Software Update settings.
- Install the beta profile by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your device.
- In the Software Update menu, you’ll find the option to download and install the iOS 17 public beta.
- Tap “Download and Install” to complete the installation process.
What’s New in Apple iOS 17: Apple’s latest iOS 17 introduces several exciting features and enhancements:
- Bilingual Siri: Users can interact with Siri using a mix of English and Indian languages like Hindi, Telegu, Punjabi, Kannada, or Marathi.
- Phone App Enhancements: The Phone app now offers Contact Posters, allowing customization of how you appear on others’ devices during incoming calls across various apps like Phone, FaceTime, Messages, and AirDrop.
- Messages Improvements: Users can utilize search filters to locate specific messages and view transcriptions of audio messages. FaceTime gains new video effects for enhanced expression during video calls, including the ability to make FaceTime calls on Apple TV 4K using Continuity Camera.
- StandBy Mode: Placing the iPhone on its side activates a new full-screen charging experience called StandBy mode. It provides glanceable information with customizable clocks, photos, and widgets. It also supports Smart Stacks, Live Activities, Siri, and NameDrop (an easy way to exchange contact information and share photos).
- Journal App: iOS 17 introduces Journal, a new app that enables users to capture everyday moments and special events through writing.
